On Monday, September 23rd at 7:00 pm the Judaic Studies program will host our Third Annual Distinguished Lecture in Judaic Studies at George Mason University. Aaron Dorfman will speak on "Toward a More Perfect Union: American Jews and American Democracy." Jews have it better in America than anywhere else in the Jewish Diaspora in the last 2,000 years, success that's primarily a function of liberal democracy. But in moments like this, when American democracy faces grave threats, the Jewish community -- in all its ideological and denominational diversity -- has an enlightened self-interest in protecting and strengthening it.
Mr. Dorfman is the founder and executive director of "A More Perfect Union: The Jewish Partnership for Democracy."
